Arizona Department of Insurance places Old
West Annuity and Life Insurance Company into Rehabilitation
Mark D. Tharp was appointed as Special Deputy Receiver
to manage the day to day operations of Old West and to pursue a plan for
rehabilitation.
The Arizona Director of Insurance took control of Old
West on March 2, 2004, in a move intended to protect policyholders and
assist the insurer in dealing with financial problems stemming from its
parent holding company.
